Senior Project Manager

The opportunity 

Reporting into the General Manager, the Senior Project Manager will manage and deliver a range of high value turnkey construction projects. The role is to provide project management expertise through the scoping, planning, execution, and review of projects with support of the other functions within the company. The Senior Project Manager will execute against projects as an individual and/or with appropriate resources, focusing on smaller, larger and/or complex projects. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. 
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and effective project coordination. 
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources. 
  • Project planning, optimization and quality management as required by project scope and requirements.  
  • Managing constructing activities while promoting a safe working environment and a team culture. Daily Management of a medium sized inhouse construction crew. 
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement risk management strategies. 
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including project plans, budgets, schedules, and progress reports. 
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to senior management and clients. 
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices. 
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure project delivery meets quality, cost, and time requirements. 
  • Providing support to the bidding team for the business development. 
  • Manage project changes and variations and ensure these are appropriately communicated and documented. 

 

Skills & Experience – can we change this to read as (Knowledge, Skills & Experience) 

  • Attention to detail is a must.  
  • Electrical engineering background or relevant experience. 
  • Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and change management. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and stakeholders. 
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices. 
  • Deadline-oriented and able to balance competing priorities  
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in large scale project construction (renewable project experience preferred)
